History

Historical Diving - Morse Diving, Inc. - MorseDiving.comThe name of Morse has been synonymous with the best in diving equipment since 1837. At that time, the partnership of Fletcher and Morse was formed, establishing the manufacturer of brass goods at the corner of Water and Congress Street in Boston. In 1864, the firm became known as Andrew J. Morse & Son, under which it flourished until 1940. The company was then incorporated as Morse Diving Equipment Company, Inc. In 1970, Morse moved to Hingham Street in Rockland, MA where it would continue to grow until 1998. That year, Morse became known as Morse Diving, Inc. and moved just around the corner to 199 Weymouth Street in Rockland.

During these one hundred and seventy-four years, it has been the mindset of Morse Diving to manufacture the best in diving equipment made from only the finest of materials. As a result of this dictum and Morse’s enduring desire to serve its customers, Morse is world-renown for its commitment to excellence.

Today, Morse Diving, Inc. still produces much of the same equipment it did in the past. We are best-known for our development of the Mark 5 helmet system in 1914. Morse’s founder, A.J. Morse, also developed and discovered Sodasorb, used both in the diving industry and the soft drink industry (as well as numerous other industries!). Beside diving helmets (our specialty!), Morse manufactured dive pumps, fire hoses and its popular Boston brass goods. Morse has also manufactured bookends, candleholders and other small collectibles.

We proudly sell to the fire and safety units as well as to scuba divers, the finest in supplied dive equipment. Presently, we are dealers for Aqua Lung, Trelleborg Viking, OTS, and OMS among other name brands. Just give us a call at 877-87-MORSE and we will eagerly help you.
