I, like many Americans, have been fighting an on-going battle with insomnia. Instead of sleeping at night I watch infomercials. Of course I had to use all of the will power I had not to buy one, or two, of every product the pitch men were hawking me, Seriously though, I did notice a very interesting pattern…everything is “Limited.” Limited time only, limited price, limited quantities…et cetera… But, what exactly is so limited about these products? I can go to the local dollar store and by 100 Sham-Wow knock-offs for fifty-cents.
I have not seen a product on an infomercial that can be deemed special, extraordinary, or even unique. What can, we, as consumers, buyers, sellers, collectors, call “limited” and mean even more so extraordinary.
I have found the answerer:
Something worth collecting, something that is literally limited.
Morse Diving, Inc. is about to celebrate its 175th anniversary. If you have not heard, Morse is the oldest diving company, established in 1837. In celebration of this monumental event we are selling a LIMITED edition (and a very LIMITED amount) of the 1904 American Dive Collection Catalogue. Morse Diving has a Limited production deal that totally benefits our loyal customers! This hardcover, leather-bound book contains beautiful sketches, images, and price descriptions of…not only Morse Diving equipment, but other popular diving brands from over the last hundred years or more! Yes, maybe the P90x deal is for a “limited time only;” but if you miss out on owning one of only 100 historical diving catalogs…the amount of time you will be kicking yourself for will not be limited!
Collectors of the world take note: the very foreword of this book explains the how rare these Catalogues are. Diving collectors of the world take note: “It could be dangerous and possibly fatal to use the information in this book it was printed for its rich historical information” (Mathieson). The entire history of diving, up to and including 1904, is neatly compiled and at your fingertips. Check out the specks:

Hi everyone,
On Sunday my little brother was watching one of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. I could not help but sit and enjoy the swashbuckling fun with him for a few moments. It is not that I find the plot terribly interesting—it’s the time period! I am in love with the Victorian era. Everything about it fascinates me. The ornamentation, the fashion, the everyday objects that are so dissimilar yet not from our own. Any opportunity to observe the past time period I jump at. The more I study it the more I can sit back and imagine myself living there.
Over the years I have seen many visuals of the centuries that have passed. An image of a centuries old vase from Athens, Greece showing the wonders of the gods on Olympus recreated for a movie. I have seen an ornamental brush, comb, mirror set made of jade or ivory from the Victorian era through the glass case in a museum. The glossy surface of history books have shown me a sculpture—carved to perfection—showing the awesomeness and indulgence of the Renaissance. The specific, unique, and often pedantic manner in which all of these items were constructed is unique to their time period. They are history-rich and so full of life! An object-personified– because it can tell us all about the people and culture that surrounded it. The things that people used and made are as important and telling as the history books that we read in school—more so because they have soul.
If you cannot already tell I have always had a passion for archeology and history. Pieces like the ones I have described are not readily available to the everyday man. The antiques, so vibrant with stories and ghosts of the past, have all mostly been unearthed, mostly. There is one place that we can still look to discover objects of history–yet to be disclosed chapters that are a part of man’s continuing tome—the ocean. As deep, vast, and tempestuous as the ocean is—it has swallowed many ships. Ships that were stocked with bounty, art, tools, brushes, perhaps even something more valuable that we cannot yet imagine it! The glorious dream of discovering gold dablooms, pirate treasure, et cetera may be somewhat illustrious; however, artifacts are unearthed from shipwrecks by divers—just look at the divers who brought up the two oldest bottles of champagne http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-06-02/world-s-oldest-champagne-from-shipwreck-may-sell-for-145-million-a-bottle.html ! Some shipwrecks have been discovered—many have yet to be. The one question that YOU must ask yourself is what is awaiting ME beyond the depths of the sea: mysteries, historical breakthrough, personal epiphanies, and fame— academic or societal, really anything. The only way to find out is to set out on the adventure of your lifetime. It is a wicked adventure; however, with Morse Diving gear, you can withstand any trial set before you. Make sure that you are equipped with the Morse Diving Mark V Standard Watch so that you can track your passage in time! Email Donna @http://Sales_Service@MorseDiving.com to start your adventure! Happy diving!

I swear I'm a water sign!
Hi everyone,
I’m Kathleen Moore– I just joined the Morse Diving family as the Social Media Director. I wanted to say hello and introduce myself to all of the Morse Diving extended family. I am so excited to be a part of a great American company. I have to admit that I have never been diving; I did however, want to be a mermaid when I was little. The ocean has always seemed like an escape to me. It is the last place that we can explore. There is so much beauty, life, and science down there—right at our fingertips! It is no wonder I was throwing pennies into every fountain I could find wishing for a tail! While I never got to be a mermaid, I now have the privilege of working for one of the greatest diving companies around—Morse Diving! This is a compromise I can live with (I think I would have gotten annoyed with the cell service under the sea after a while anyway)!
I am so happy at Morse Diving. Everyone has welcomed me with open arms and a huge smile! Since I have started here I have learned so much about diving, the etymology of diving, and about the birth of our company. Did you guys know that all of the Morse Diving products are made in the good old U S or A? Well they are! We may be a GLOBAL company—but we take our American roots seriously. And our roots are deep. Morse diving was founded in 1837. That means we have over a century of trusted product reliability and human resources. How many businesses around today can say that with any degree of veracity? I cannot imagine anything more important than reliability and trust! Plus, we supplied equipment to the Pirates of the Caribbean movies—how cool is that! Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, and Keira Knightley around our products! That is star power!
I cannot wait to get to know all of you more. Please feel free to connect with me via my twitter @ www.twitter.com/kathleenmoore18 or through any of the Morse Diving sites. I am here to help you stay in touch with us- and I am psyched to do it.
